VRA clinches 2025 UG Corporate Tennis Championship title…

The Volta River Authority (VRA) has emerged winners of the 2025 University of Ghana Corporate Tennis Championship after delivering an impressive performance that combined skill, teamwork and consistency at the University of Ghana Tennis Court.

The annual competition brought together corporate institutions including GOIL PLC, Stanbic Bank Ghana, and the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) to compete in a “two-doubles, one-singles” format.VRA began their campaign with a dominant showing against GCAA. The doubles pair of Nana Kum Sam-Awortwi and Samuel Yaw Akotuah defeated GCAA’s Pobi Afoakwa and Akwasi Agyei 9–4 in their opening match. The second doubles team of Sam-Awortwi and Daniel Kwame Dzogbetsah continued the winning form, overpowering GCAA’s Maxlon Abuabasa and Akwasi Agyei by the same 9–4 scoreline.

Although VRA’s Adom Manasseh Dickson lost the singles tie to GCAA’s Pobi Afoakwa 2–6, his fighting spirit kept spectators engaged throughout the contest. The loss, however, did not affect VRA’s advancement to the final, having already secured victory through the doubles matches.
